猜猜我有多爱你
GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU

小栗色兔子要上床睡觉了，可是他紧紧地抓住大栗色兔子的长耳朵不放。
Little Nutbrown Hare, who was going to bed,
held on tight to Big Nutbrown Hare’s very long ears.


“这么多。”栗色小兔子说。他把手臂张开，伸得尽可能的远。
“This much,”said Little Nutbrown Hare,
stretching out his arms as wide as they could go.


可大兔子的手臂更长，他说：“我爱你有这么多。”
“嗯，这真是很多。”小兔子想。
Big Nutbrown Hare had even longer arms.
“But I   love you this much,”he said.
Hmm, that is a lot, thought Little Nutbrown Hare.


“我爱你就像我的手举得这么高，高得不能再高。”大兔子说。
“I love you as high as I can reach,”said Big Nutbrown Hare.
这可真高，小兔子想，我的手臂能像他一样长就好了。
That is very high,thought Little Nutbrown Hare.
I wish I had ar***ike that.


小兔子又有了一个好主意，他倒立起来，把脚撑在树干上。
“我爱你一直到我的脚趾头这么多！”他说。
Then Little Nutbrown Hare had a good idea.
He tumbled upside down and reached up the tree trunk with his feet.
“I love you all the way up to my toes!”He said.


大兔子把小兔子抱起来，高高抛过自己的头顶。
“我爱你一直到你的脚趾头够到的地方！”
“And I love you all the way up to your toes,”said Big Nutbrown Hare,
swinging him up over his head.


“我跳得有多高，就有多爱你。”小兔子大笑着，跳上又跳下。
“I love you as high as I can hop!”
laughed Little Nutbrown Hare, Bouncing up and down.


“可是我爱你，也有我跳得那么高。”
大兔子微微地笑着，它跳得那么高，耳朵都碰到树枝上了。
“But I love you as high as I can hop,”smiled Big Nutbrown Hare
－and he hopped so high that his ears touched the branches above.
这真是跳得太高了，小兔子想，我希望我也能跳那么高。
That’s good hopping,thought Little Nutbrown Hare.
I wish I could hop like that.


“我爱你，像这条小路伸到小河那么远。”小兔子喊起来。
“I love you all the way down the lane as far as the river,”
cried Little Nutbrown Hare.
“我爱你，远到跨过小河，再翻过那座山。”大兔子说。
“I   love you across the river and over the hills,”
said Big Nutbrown Hare.


这实在太远了，小兔子想。他太困了，想不出更多的东西来了。
That’s very far, thought Little Nutbrown Hare.
He was almost too sleepy to think anymore.
于是，他抬头望着灌木丛那边的黑夜。没有什么能比天空更远的了。
Then he looked beyond the thorn bushes,out into the big dark night.
Nothing could be farther then the sky.


“我爱你，一直到月亮那里。”他说，然后闭上了眼睛。
“噢，那真是很远，”大兔子说，“非常非常的远。”
“I love you right up to the moon,”he said,and closed his eyes.
“Oh, that's far,”said big Nutbrown Hare.
“That is very，very far.”


然后他躺在小兔子的身边，微笑着轻声说：
“我爱你一直到月亮那里，再从月亮上
回到这里来。”
Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile,
“I   love you right up to the moon ——
and back.”


当你很爱、很爱一个人的时候，
也许，
你会想把这种感觉描述出来。
可是，就像小兔子和大兔子发现的那样：
爱，实在不是一件容易衡量的东西。
How much can you love someone?
Little Nutbrown Hare wants to show Big Nutbrown Hare
how very much he loves him ——
But love as big as his is very hard to measure.
