The Vampire Diaries cast and crew is on spoiler lock-down mode when it comes to the highly anticipated 100th episode (Season 5, Episode 11), butETonline managed to get a few spoilery tidbits out of the TVD cast — both present and past — at the show’s 100th episode celebration in Atlanta on November 9. From all accounts, you are not going to want to miss this epic episode! Death in Mystic Falls? Considering TVD killed off three characters in this week’s episode alone, it is hard to imagine what a 100th episode death might look like, but it seems a distinct possibility. Executive producer Julie Plec, who wrote the script with executive producer Caroline Dries said, “Death is knocking at the window in the 100th episode, but I’m not going to say if death is successful or with whom.” Given that she also teased “a nice, big, juicy cry and a nice, big, juicy shocker,” we’re kinda, sorta worried about our TVDfaves. Familiar faces return Julie also spoiled that there will be “a lot of faces that maybe you’ve seen before, some people sentimentally that you might be happy to see again.” We already know this includes the late Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan), crossing back over from The Originals, but who else might show their lovely mug? Matt Davis (Alaric), Malese Jow (Anna), and Kayla Ewell (Vicki) were all in attendance at the celebration, but keeping mum about their potential return for the episode. “I think Kevin and Julie do a good job of giving the viewers what they want, so we’re going to have to stay tuned and see,” said Kayla. On-screen brother Zach Roerig (Matt) added that, “You’re going to be very impressed and happy with some of the folks who come back to town.” Michael Trevino (Tyler) seemed excited about the returning cast, as well. He said: “A lot of maybe faces from the past, which is gonna be kind of neat ... Our brilliant writers found a way to kind of include all of them in one episode, believe it or not, to fit them all in and still make the story make sense.” A scene with the ENTIRE cast? Whoever does make a return appearance, they will most likely be in this massive, all-cast scene everyone seems to be talking about. According to Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy), “There’s one scene in particular that was a lot of fun to film because very rarely do we all work on the same day, and on this day, they literally blocked out a full day just to film one scene.” Sound epic! Paul Wesley (Ian Somerhalder), who seemed a bit sad the surprise was spoiled, implied there would be a few faces back from the dead in the group scene: “It’s a big thing. Everyone is gathered. Everyone has a nice powwow. That’s why I tell everyone, when you die on The Vampire Diaries, you don’t really die on The Vampire Diaries.” Katherine-centric storyline According to Ian Somerhalder (Damon), this will be a big episode for Katherine. (Oh god. Is she dying?!) Ian said, “We learn a lot about Katherine, which has been a very intense part of the story. Stefan, Damon, and Elena all have a very different way they want to deal with her. Damon just wants her dead as a doornail, so it’s interesting.” Well, he did already try to kill her once. So much has changed since TVD Season 1! Though Katherine seems to be a focal point of the episode, it seem that there will be something in this episode for every kind of TVD fan. Candice Accola (Caroline) said about the ep: “I’m excited for the fans to experience just how much the writers wanted to give back to them in this 100th episode… I think they’re going to be thrilled with this episode.” When asked to describe the episode in one word, Nina Dobrev (Elena) just giggled, saying, “I’m laughing at you that you think I can describe it in one word. And, when you watch it, you’ll know why I said that.” Are you as excited to watch this episode as the cast and crew are for you to see it? Sound off in the comments below!
